Of course women have enjoyed the benefits and pleasure of wearing quality stockings, tights, and pantyhose. They can give women that extra warmth they need on a breezy day or they can add class and style to any outfit. Now men are aiming at enjoying those same benefits!
Some say “Mantyhose” are growing in popularity these days (even though we’ve seen nothing like this around here). Mantyhose are stockings that are specifically designed and marketed to men, as well as unisex versions. Mantyhose have been popular in Europe (go figure) for some years and are worn by people who work outside such as landscapers to help guard against the cold.
Francesco Cavallini, vice-president of luxe hosiery company Emilio Cavallini, tells Women’s Wear Daily that men are a growing niche market: “When we started our online shop we noticed that a lot of tights sized medium-large were being purchased by men…so I did a search on the Internet and discovered there is a cult following for mantyhose.”
We know fashion goes retro every few years but not in this way. Fashion is getting more androgynous by the minute. So the big question is will YOU be wearing Mantyhose?
