Beastie Boys Co-Founder MCA Passes Away

It is being reported that legendary hip hop group co-founder MCA of the Beastie Boys passed away today at the age of 47.  MCA revealed in 2009 that he was diagnosed with cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node.  After his diagnosis he underwent surgery and radiation therapy.  It is not being said if his recent passing is a result of his disease.

MCA, Adam Yaunch, co-founded the group in 1979 and went on to win many awards.  The trio was just inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame this spring.
