Obama recently made a statement in an ABC News interview where he confirmed that he supported same-sex marriage. This is the first time the president has expressed his views on the issue. In the past, Obama simply stated that his views on the topic were “evolving.” Seeing as how this is an election year, the statement could have some powerful impact on his campaign. The statement could either help, or hurt not only people’s views on the president, but also his possiblities of re-election.
