Timbaland and Missy Elliott are coming out and basically saying that Blackground Records are lying about their involvement upcoming album from Aaliyah! If you recall just recently I reported that Blackground records made a huge announcement and had fans all excited that a new Aaliyah album is on the way and Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Drake have all signed on to produce and appear on the album! But Missy Elliott and Timbaland have issued a couple of statements clearing the air on this upcoming ‘album’ and their involvement!
Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate. We’ve seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated. — Mona Scott- Young (Missy Elliott’s Manager)

I don’t know about you but I think an Aaliyah album without Missy Elliott or Timbaland would be an injustice to her memory. They helped mold and shape who she was as an artist and were instrumental in her sound.
