Cassidy and Meek Mill ended 2012 with diss tracks after the former dropped “Me, Myself & iPhone” and latter responded with “Repo.”

Now, Cassidy says that his on-wax beef with the Maybach Music Group rapper is nothing personal but that their relationship runs deep. Speaking with MTV News, he said that he used to help Mill with his lyrics but that he started acting different when he signed to Maybach Music Group.

“He used to call my phone all the time, always asking me to hear his music. I actually used to help him write his raps and give him information back in the day, but ever since he got his deal, things changed,” he said. “He stopped calling me, stopped communicating, stopped doing records together — it’s like he was a whole different type of person. I reached out a couple times, I don’t know if he was just busy or if he just changed, but it wasn’t exactly the same as before he [got a deal].

“I know how it is, because I’ve been on for over 10 years, so I know how it can be sometimes, especially when you’re having your first run and a lot of attention is on you, so I didn’t feel no type of way about it,” he continued. “That’s not the reason this battle thing came about, but at the end of the day, I do feel as though it’s not how it used to be before he got on.” READ MORE
