Azealia Banks Calls Perez Hilton A F—-t, Gay Group Responds

Rap beef in the age of Twitter can quickly take on a life of its own. It’s hard enough keeping up with the back-and-forth of a typical conflict (like this one). But now that any and everyone can interject with a simple click, the battles can spin out like E-40 ghostridin’ the whip.

Rappers Azealia Banks and Angel Haze were minding their own business, engaged in a rhyme beef when celebrity blogger Perez Hilton added his two cents to the mix. Azealia Banks, who has never met a beef she didn’t like, responded to Hilton calling him a “Messy F*ggot.”

The Internet went Defcon 8 with reactions picking Banks, who is bi-sexual, apart for her use of the slur towards Hilton, who is gay. Banks, however, was not moved.

“My most sincere apologies to anyone who was indirectly offended by my foul language,” she wrote. “Not sorry for Perez tho. Lol. Really not as moved by this f word thing as u all want me to be.  A faggot is not a homosexual male. A f*ggot is any male who acts like a female. There’s a BIG difference. As a bisexual person I knew what I meant when I used that word.”
