More women are admitting to buying knockoffs of designer products. A survey conducted by CouponCodes4u.com says three-quarters of women have knowingly purchased a counterfeit designer fashion item. Many respondents confess that they own as many as five knockoff dresses, handbags, wallets, jewelry or shoes. More than half say the reason they buy them because they just can’t afford the real thing. Thirty-seven percent say they want to have the look of designer products to impress friends or family. Nine percent admit that they can’t tell the difference between an item that’s counterfeit and one that’s authentic. The most popular items among women are handbags and wallets.
