Ohio schools are receiving almost $38 million from casino tax revenue. The money is distributed twice a year on a per pupil basis. This is the first time schools are receiving the money since the casino opened last year. For each of the 1.8 million students, the distribution amounts to about $21 per person. The money comes from the taxes from the three casinos in the state (Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo). The fourth casino in Ohio is set to be in Cincinnati and will open in March.
