Kid Cudi may feel like he doesn’t get enough play on the radio, but come this time next year, he’ll be getting plenty of play on the big screen. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper/producer just signed on the star alongside “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul in the Dreamworks adaptation of the video game, “Need for Speed.”

In the film, which is slated to hit theaters in February 2014, the Ohioan will play a member of Paul’s crew. Paul will play a small-time street racer who is framed for an auto racing accident that takes his best friend’s life. After serving time, he signs up for a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get sweet revenge on the people that framed him.

Cudi’s movie news comes on the same day that his latest cover for Complex was revealed.Complex usually does a two-sided cover for each issue. Yesterday, Rihanna’s seven covers were revealed for the February/March 2013 issue. Today, Cudi’s cover shows him in a clear coffin soaking in what appears to be blood with the headline, “Kid Cudi, Born to Die.” In the accompanying article, the artist legally known as Scott Mescudi talks about shaking prescription drugs, getting over breakup depression, therapy, his father’s death and what completing his upcoming fourth album, Indicud, means to him.
