Columbus police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the city’s southwest side late Wednesday night.

According to Columbus police, a woman called 911 to report that her husband had been shot in the home in the 2200 block of Eakin Road at about 11:16 p.m. Wednesday.

Responding officers and medic personnel arrived at the home and found 39-year-old Larry A. Sigman II had been shot multiple times in the abdomen.

Sigman was transported to Mount Carmel West Hospital where he later died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, according to detectives.

Detectives tell NBC4 the woman stated she and her husband heard two men knock on their door. The woman’s husband, identified as 39-year-old Larry A. Sigman II, went to answer the door, at which time his wife heard several gunshots.

His wife ran to investigate and found her husband had been shot in the stomach. SOURCE
