No arrests have been made in connection with the murder of a 53-year-old Beachwood woman.

Aliza Sherman was the mother of four and a nurse at the Cleveland Clinic.

Police say she was discovered at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday lying in a pool of blood behind The Galleria near East 12th Street.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office said Sherman died from multiple stab wounds.

Friends said she was downtown visiting her lawyer. They said she was in the middle of divorce proceedings from her estranged husband

Beachwood police said they’ve been called to Sherman’s home multiple times, but would not elaborate.

The Clinic released the following statement:

“We are saddened by the tragic death of our long-time employee, Aliza, who was an invitro fertilization nurse. She has touched many lives and will always be remembered for her warmth and kindness. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.”
