THIS JUST CAME DOWN../ Breaking News.. Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill was sentenced TODAY to three months in prison and ALSO SHE WILL HAVE TO SERVE AN ADDITIONAL three months in home confinement for failing to pay taxes on about $1 million in earnings.
Lauryn Hill, who is now 37, pleaded guilty to the case last year..
In Court, Lauryn Hill explained she had always meant to eventually pay off the taxes but was unable to during a period of time when she dropped out of the music business..
“I needed to be able to earn so I could pay my taxes, without compromising the health and welfare of my children, and I was being denied that,” Hill said Today (Monday).
Before her sentence today, she had paid more than $970,000 to satisfy the state and federal tax liabilities.
She just had been signed to a record deal which was supposed to help to pay back the loan…..I guess we have to wait for the Lauryn Hill Tour….
