It’s that time of year when we celebrate independence and eat a LOT of BBQ!  There are plenty of opportunities to celebrate all over central Ohio.  I’ve done some research for you and made a list of all of the 4th of July celebrations happening this week!  Have fun & be safe!

 

Bexley

July 4

9:30 a.m.: 4th of July parade, rain or shine

5 p.m.: Community celebration (events, music, food, located at front lawn of Capital University)

10 p.m.: Fireworks (between College Ave & Pleasant Ridge Ave)

Clintonville

July 4

7:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Community breakfast (Park of Roses main shelter house)

8:30 a.m. 5K run/walk starting at Whetstone High School (registration opens at 7:15 a.m.)

9 a.m.: Flag raising

10 a.m.: Pet show (sign in at 9 AM near the main shelter house & the daffodil garden)

10 a.m.: NCIL All-Star Games

10 a.m.: Children’s July 4th bike decorating contest (sign in at 10 a.m.)

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Fishing derby

5 p.m. – 7 p.m.: The Songbirds

9 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Janet’s Planet

Columbus

July 3

11 a.m.: Vendor and concession sales begin on Civic Center Drive

12 p.m.: Entertainment begins

6 p.m.: AEP Independence Day parade presented by the Blue Jackets begins

10 p.m.: Fireworks (downtown riverfront)

10:30 p.m.: Entertainment resumes

Delaware

July 4

7 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Independence Day Flea Market at Sunbury Square (admission: $1 adults/teens; children 10 and under free)

7:30 p.m. – Central Ohio Symphony outdoor concert

10 pm – Fireworks

Central Ohio Symphony July 4th Concert – 7:30 pm (Free concert)

 

Delaware/Lewis Center

July 4

Orange 4th of July Celebration

10 a.m. – Parade (Starts at Powell Rd. at Oak Creek Center then travels east towards Old State then proceeds north on Old State towards Orange Rd. then east to Orange Middle School)

4:00 p.m. – Beach Bash/Food vendors, kids area, DJ and live music, Champps Beer Garden (Alum Creek State Park Beach)

9:45 p.m. – Fireworks (Alum Creek State Park Beach)

12:00 a.m. – Beach Bash closes

 

Dublin

July 4

11 a.m.: Independence Day parade

4 p.m.: Skyhoundz Hyperflight canine Frisbee competition

6 p.m. Independence Day Festivities

9:45 p.m.: Fireworks at Civic Park (6801 Daugherty Dr.)

Traffic is permitted to enter the park off Daugherty Dr. After the fireworks, vehicle traffic will be held in park for 15 minutes until pedestrian traffic subsides. Once vehicles are released from parking area, motorists headed to Lancaster Ave. will only enter that road at Daugherty. Side streets north of Daugherty will be closed to vehicle traffic, and temporary parking restrictions will be enforced in residential areas near park.

July 4

10 a.m.: Parade and 5K Firecracker Run held along E. Main St.

Following roads will be closed to accomodate parade and 5K run:

8:45 a.m.: Rosehill Rd. closed between E. Main St. and Retton Rd.

8:45 a.m.: Haft Dr. closed between E. Main St. and Foxchase

8:45 a.m.: E. Main St. eastbound curb lane closed between Rosehill Rd. and Haft Dr.

9:45 a.m.: E. Main St. closed between Crest and Lancaster Ave.

Individuals participating in the 5K are required to park in Spangler Park which can be accessed off East Livingston Ave. They will not be permitted to park in Huber Park parking area off Davidson Drive.
