She may have won Miss USA last year but Nana Meriwether still has trouble finding a date and admits turning to an online dating service to help her meet the man of her dreams.
Meriwether, 28, the reigning Miss USA until she handed off the crown just three weeks ago, said she signed up for the dating app Tinder in April.
“Here’s the thing about dating in New York: It doesn’t exist,” the South African-born Meriwether told New York magazine. “There’s so much going on in the city, there are so many distractions that people just forget to go on a second date.”

Tinder, which hit the Apple app store in October, shows users a few images of singles in their area and asks them to hit “like” or say “nope” to their potential matches. Only those with mutual “likes” are allowed to message each other.
“Mostly I joined because a friend told me to, but I think it could be a great way to meet people, especially in New York City,” Meriwether said. “I think when you’re single, you should try all avenues. And now there are so many new apps for dating — this one is just really fun.”
Meriwether said she just wants to have fun and has only gone on two or three dates with people through Tinder.
“It’s funny — the guys I’ve said yes to have all been like, ‘Are you real?'” she said. “I’m like, ‘Yeah, of course.’ Even pageant-title-holders get lonely.”
But Meriwether probably won’t meet her dream date on the app. The pageant beauty recently admitted to having a huge crush on Prince Harry.

“He is single, right?” she asked reporters at a May fundraising reception hosted by the royal in New York City. “Well so am I. Wouldn’t it be wonderful is we got married? We are meant to be.” SOURCE
