Who would have thought Kanye West was into awkward improv comedy a few years ago? Footage from a 2008 comedy series pilot shows us that throughout Ye’s career he’s always had an ego and a strange sense of humor.

The clip stars Ye and actress Alison Quinn who is known for her role in “Trading Spaces.” In the four minute footage, Kanye makes a visit to a Make-a-Wish child and seems hurt when he finds out that the sick child prefers Lil Wayne’s music rather than his own, despite resembling a young Kanye.

HBO signed a deal with the controversial rapper five years ago and producer Larry Charles assisted with the pilot. The network did not go through with the project.

“What Kanye West said to me the first time, he said, ‘I’m the black Larry David.’ That’s the first thing he said to me…. He’s so much funnier than people realize. “ – Larry Charles

We wouldn’t say Ye’s a black Larry David but if this is any indication of the series, stick to music and fashion Ye. Check it out and let us know what you think of Kanye’s attempt at television.
