Sadly, nearly 13 years ago, Detroit’s “Baby girl” tragically passed away in a plane crash, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy that will forever change the music industry.

Celebrating the life of Aaliyah and remembering her remarkable career is Detroit native DJ LimeLightz who has produced an incredible, easy flowing, feel good tribute mix.

“Aaliyah has always been my celebrity crush. Even after her passing away I’ve always been amazed by her voice and beauty!  Whenever I drop an Aaliyah record it still feels brand new to me,” DJ LimeLightz tells soodetroit.com. “More importantly though …I feel like it’s important for Detroit to embrace one of our own and celebrate her Birthday with a mix of a few of her classics.
