Welcome to Setback Saturdays! This is where I will pick a year, and we will head down memory lane with the hottest songs of that year!

So for the first Setback Saturday, let’s start with the year I graduated from high school..2004.  I know, hold the jokes.  In 2004,  I was headed to college, I had a broke down Chevy Corisa I called “The Blue Mobile,” and wearing FUBU was still cool.

In the news, Facebook launched, Bush was re-elected for President, the deadly tsunami ripped through Indonesia,  Pat Tillman passed up a 3.6 million dollar contact with the Arizona Cardinals to serve his country and was killed, and finally Arnold Schwarzenegger is voted in as the new governor of California.

Let’s check out the hottest songs of the year!

Top Songs of the Year 10-5

  • “The Way You Move” Outkast featuring Sleepy Brown
  • “Burn” Usher
  •  “I Believe” Fantasia
  • “Lean Back” Terror Squad featuring Fat Joe
  •  “Drop It Like It’s Hot” Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell

Top Songs 5-1

#5 Juvenile -Slow Motion

At parties, I love when this song came on. Long Live the Twerk!

#4 My Boo- Usher and Alicia Keys

This use to be be everybody’s ringtone at one point.

#3 Twista- Slow Jamz

#2 Goodies – Ciara

Who knew 10 years later not only would Ciara give up the goodies, but she had a body party while doing it?

#1 Usher-Yeah

This was a MEGA year for Usher. He dropped confessions which was the best  R&B CD EVER! Maybe not ever, but it was pretty awesome. Check out his hit song with Ludacris and Lil Jon here. What ever happened to Lil Jon?

What were you doing in 2004? Any songs we missed? Let me know on the bird! @SPDaCoolKid
