WATER COOLER TALK: It may soon be against the law in Illinois to smoke in your vehicle if there are children in the car!  An Illinois lawmaker wants to make it illegal for motorists to smoke in cars with kids.

If this law is passed a police officer would not be allowed to pull over a vehicle for only smoking with kids in the car.  But the officer could write a $100 ticket if the car is pulled over for another offense.

According to the Centers for Disease Control second hand smoke can cause ear infections, more frequent and severe asthma attacks, respiratory symptoms (e.g., coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath), respiratory infections (i.e., bronchitis, pneumonia), a greater risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

What do you think about the proposal?  Do you agree or disagree with the smoking ban?
