Actress Countess Vaughn, who is known for acting on “The Parkers” and “Moesha,” recently revealed that she contracted a debilitating scalp infection from wearing lace front wigs non-stop for the last five years.
What happened to her scalp? “Vaughn, who has been out of the public eye for a while now, admits that her five-year-long love affair with lace front wigs, which required her to use a glue adhesive, caused a severe scalp infection that resulted in hair loss, pus-filled blisters, scarring, discoloration, and even a facial infection.”
But she was forewarned. Six months before, she suspected that she had an infection but ignored the symptoms because she couldn’t see herself not wearing a wig.
Unfortunately, lace front wigs have been linked to forehead cancer in Black women. Do you think it is time for sisters to give it up?
