I know you were wondering if the Queen Barbie and Young Money HBIC would keep quiet after Forbes Magazine crowned Iggy Azalea as the Top Female Rapper.  Check out what she had to say and more!

YMCMB first lady Nicki Minaj is gearing up for the release of her latest album “The Pink Print” and she’s been hitting the promo trail heavy for the last few weeks.

In addition to dropping the albums’ first single “Pills N Potions” earlier this week,  Nicki  also addressed Forbes Magazine recently saying Iggy Azalea “runs hip hop,” being obsessed with Jay Z, leading the way for female rappers and more while out on her press tour visiting everyone from The Breakfast Club, to Power 106, to Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM.

Check out some of what she’s had to say so far below.

On females in hip hop:

I feel like I have opened the door for that in the industry. I think that there are women who do their thing and for whatever reason, they don’t get the recognition…It takes a lot of work.

It doesn’t just happen overnight. It’s not a female-friendly business. Hip-hop is not female-friendly at all.

On her new album “The Pink Print” and whether it will be “hardcore hip hop:”

I’m very proud of it. This is a meaningful body of work, and I’m tired of labeling it. I’m not gonna ever label my music again.

Nicki also responded to Forbes labeling fellow white rapstress Iggy Azalea as the top female in hip hop and went into to detail about her obsession with Jay Z.

Nicki laughed off Forbes crowning Iggy Azalea as the top female in hip hop and also says she hadn’t even read the article. Check out the rest of her comments on the topic below.

On Forbes saying Iggy Azalea runs hip-hop:

Ok, I’m reloaded….All Forbes needs to worry about is my finances and when I’m gonna be selling Myx Fusions for $250 million. We rely on hip-hop connoisseurs and blogs for that kinda information, so we appreciate that, but no thank you.”

On her Jay Z obsession:

I think everybody knows how obsessed I am with Jay Z. He’s always been my favorite rapper, him and Wayne, and he did such a great job of creating this Blueprint brand for male rappers.

I studied a lot of his Blueprint, in terms of being a mogul, I wanted to do that. I wanted to be like Jay Z. I felt like with what I’m doing, I want female rappers to be able to pattern themselves with what I’ve done one day.

On “The Pink Print” mirroring Jay Z’s “Blueprint” album by setting the example for female rap albums:

I think the album is so classic.

It’s gonna feel so good and I think it will probably be something that female rappers look to as a Pink Print for years to come.

Hmmmm. We’re definitely curious to see what this album will bring. Will you be checking out “The Pink Print” when it drops?

Until your next fix!
