suns arrested for dui

The Phoenix Suns have some explaining to do after they’ve chosen to re-sign P.J. Tucker knowing he was arrested for a “super-extreme” DUI back in May. What’s a super extreme DUI, you ask? Well, where a .08 blood-alcohol content is already considered legally drunk, Tucker blew a  .201 on a preliminary breath test and when he was given a blood test back at the station, the results showed that he had a blood alcohol content of .222. In a nutshell, a super extreme DUI is .20 or higher.

Tucker who signed a 3 year, $16.5 million contract ($12.7 million guaranteed) with the Suns last week, was arrested in Scottsdale, AZ on May 10 after the 2011 Mercedes-Benz he was driving, ran a stop sign, turned wide into the right lane on westbound Camelback and turned wide again while straddling two lanes on northbound Scottsdale Road. According to the police report  Tucker had “thick and slurred” speech and “watery and bloodshot” eyes.
