Joey Bada$$ was arrested and has been charged with assault in Australia following an alleged altercation with a security guard at Falls Festival this weekend, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Joey reportedly punched the security guard in the nose shortly before he was due to perform, causing injuries to the man’s face. The security guard, who had stopped the rapper to check for credential identification, was then hospitalized and treated for a broken nose and other injuries.
Following the show, the New York MC was arrested, charged with assault, appeared in court and was granted bail. He is due back in court March 19.
