Snoop Lion, formerly Dogg, is one of the most reliable names in the hip-hop world today; he’s touring the world almost constantly and has endorsement deals with companies from G Pen to Toyota.

Now he can add multimillion dollar tech investor to that list of reliable and lucrative things, as he’s one of several investors in outside funding for social media/news site Reddit. Snoop, along with tech investor figures like Sam Altman, Ron Conway, and actor Jared Leto, among others, raised $50 million in outside funding for the site.

Snoop’s involvement in the project in particular meant a lot to the Reddit community. He’s done various Ask Me Anything threads for the site where he’s more than willing to talk about life and weed with Reddit users under the name “Here_Comes_The_King.”

The contributions from investors like Snoop might come back in a good way for Reddit users. They plan on giving ten percent of the money from investing to users on the site, possibly in the form of a useable currency. How this currency might be used remains to be seen.

This wouldn’t be Snoop’s first time getting involved with a tech project. His app “Snoopify,” in collaboration with Upperplayground, allows you to add stickers of marijuana leaves, blunts, and other things to your pictures.
