Remember a few weeks ago when all of your favorite music celebrities gathered around a round table making it look like they cured cancer?
Memba that?? Well eventually we found out that it was just propaganda for this cool new app that could be used to stream music. I know what your thinking… same thing I was thinking… “Now hold on Rich People, I have Spodify and Pandora… What makes this new app so Special??”
- It’s was claimed to be the first music streaming service that combines the best high fidelity sound quality, high definition music videos and expertly curated editorial.
- It is backed by all the major artist that’s making moves today.
That being said it should be nothing to cash out $10 a month for digital audio-quality (a compressed format similar to what you get with Spotify) or $20 a month for CD-quality sound… Right? Or Nah.
According to E! Online “Two weeks after Tidal briefly cracked the U.S. iPhone top 20 download chart, the app has crashed out of the top 700, according to BGR. Do you understand what that means? There are 700 other apps that people like more than Tidal.”
Apparently no body has time for that… and this is not only news because it’s such a big flop but, its also news because its Jay-z’s Flop and he NEVER flops.
Not only did he flops so big “BGR also reports that as of April 20, Pandora and Spotify occupied positions No. 3 and No. 4 on the U.S. iPhone revenue chart, respectively. This was the first time two music streaming services have hit the top 4 in sales simultaneously…This follows news from Friday that saw Tidal lay off 25 employees, including its founding CEO Andy Chen. According to Business Insider, a memo from the company said, “We’ve eliminated a handful of positions and refocused our company-wide talent to address departments that need support and cut redundancies.”
Yea ok “Refocus” how about re-budget… Less people they pay to make sure TIDAL exist, the less we have to pay to use it.
I honestly don’t know what he and all his supportive rich friends thought would happen but to the normal old me and you are not about to pay all this money I don’t have just because Beyoncé husband and her husband told us to… take that to the Bey-Hive.
