Sad news for singer August Alsina as he announced on social media that he is losing sight and going blind.

We are sending prayers up to August Alsina as the singer battles an eye disease that’s rendering him blind. The R&B crooner made the startling revelation last night on his Instagram, where he posted a photo of laser beams shooting directly into his eyeballs while lying on the operating table.
Alerting his fans of this latest health crisis, the 22-year-old revealed he has already lost sight in his left eye while his right eye looks to be following suit.
So I have this eye disease.. Blind in my left, and losing vision in my right. In order to prevent my eyesight from deteriorating I had to do this surgery. This shit is beyond painful & Life be throwin’ a nigxa curve balls but what I’ve gained from it all is priceless…
A lot of things that are so natural to us in life (like waking up and being able to see) we can take it for granted. Thank God the OG for allowing me to see.. The good the bad the ugly, I’m just glad to see
While we don’t know what eye disease (glaucoma, cataracts, etc.) he’s suffering from, losing his eyesight may have been preventable if his eye disease was caught early.
Last September, Youngin was rushed to the hospital and fell into a three-day coma after fainting at his New York shows. He explained on The Breakfast Club:
I had over 10 seizures. I never had that problem before. Never that type of medical history in my family, or anything of that sort. I was talking to Meek and basically, sometimes, God can find a way to sit you down.
I think what happened was, it was a case of me just basically putting other people before myself. Just overworking myself and exhaustion. A lot of people would say, ‘He fell out cause he’s on some coke, or he’s sipping lean.’ It’s like, ‘What are y’all talking about?’

Another artist who suffered an eye disease at an early age was Fetty Wap, known for his massive hit ‘Trap Queen.’ When he was younger, he developed glaucoma in both eyes and his doctor was only able to save one eye.
