It appears as though the problems just keep coming for Jay Z and his music streaming service, TIDAL.
Bloomberg Business reports that Sony Music Entertainment is threatening to remove all of its artists’ music from TIDAL as frontman Jay Z has yet to make a deal with them regarding streaming contracts. Sony is reportedly asking for “large advances” in return for the streaming rights to the music.
If Jay Z fails to cough up the money, the publication says that Sony will pull all of their artists’ music from the service. That’s bad, bad news for Hov. In addition to Beyoncé, other big names including Daft Punk, Alicia Keys and Usher are all signed to Sony.
It’s not all bad news for TIDAL though as the organization has reported deals with both Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.
