Snoop Dogg‘s son Cordell BroadusĀ — one the most highly recruited high school players in the country — just dropped a bombshell … he’s quitting the UCLA football team to “pursue other passions.”

Broadus, a freshman at UCLA, was M.I.A. from the first week of Bruins camp … even though he was expected to compete for a starting wide receiver position this season. He intends to continue taking classes at UCLA.

But head coach Jim Mora says Cordell told him he wants to make movies … “in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions.”

It sounds like they’re parting on great terms, since Mora gave his company a plug — and added, “Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree.”

Wow.
