Keeping it real has definitely went wrong for Jimmy Carlton Winfrey a.k.a. Peewee Roscoe a.k.a. the former Young Thug road manager turned Lil Wayne tour bus shooter back in April of this year.
According to the Associated Press, the 25-year-old man will part with a chunk of his life after pleading guilty to the shooting and being sentenced to 20 years, including 10 to serve in prison, per the Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds.
Superior Court Judge Mary E. Staley says the remaining 10 years will be served as probation, obviously provided he doesn’t do anything stupid.
On the evening of April 26, Winfrey fired multiple shots at the two buses traveling on I-285 near I-75, according to Atlanta and Cobb police. While it never confirmed whether Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was aboard either of the buses there was said to be a dozen people traveling following a performance at Atlanta’s Compound nightclub. No injuries were reported.
Winfrey had previously indicated that Wayne’s estranged boss and surrogate father, Bryan “Birdman” Williams was also implicated in the shooting but no concrete evidence ever surfaced from the claim. The Cash Money CEO also publicly denied the allegations.
“This defendant is a member of the Bloods street gang,” Chief ADA Don Geary said to the court, reported The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We can prove he was in the Camaro. Whether he was alone, we don’t know. At any rate, he is a party to these crimes.”
Prosecutors willingly chose not to pursue the bulk of Winfrey’s 30 indictments following his plea deal.
