It’s just jokes! Here’s your Great Moment in Black History for the day: The First Person to Record From Jail.
Tremaine Jones, AKA T-Baby, was an aspiring rap artist who was no stranger to jail. But he was doing great, and had been out long enough to record most of his debut album. But with one more song to go, T Baby got locked up again! This time, for a while. So his manager devised a plan. On one of his phone calls, he would play the beat for T-Baby, and T-Baby would rap his verses over the phone, as the studio engineer recorded him. T Baby inspired an entire generation of incarcerated rappers to do the same. Tremaine Jones, the First Person to Record a Song from Jail.
