CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health has reported the state’s first case of Zika virus in a Cleveland woman.
Fox 8’s Matt Wright has learned that the woman was diagnosed by a private doctor. She no longer has the virus. She contracted the virus while in Haiti for work.
According to a release from the health department, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention previously reported 35 cases of the Zika virus in the United States.

CDC has confirmed a U.S. case of Zika virus infection in a non-traveler after the person’s sexual partner returned from an affected country and developed symptoms, according to a release.
