The New York Times reports that New York Knicks player Cleanthony Early was shot and robbed outside of a Queens, New York, strip club in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 30. According to the Times, Early had just left the CityScapes Gentleme

Federal prosecutors filed court documents Saturday charging a Brooklyn man with taking part in the gang robbery and shooting of New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early in December, the New York Times reports.

Prosecutors allege that Delvon Dowling was one of several assailants who forced Early, at gunpoint, to exit an Uber car and stole two cell phones, necklaces, and gold caps from his teeth. One of the masked men also shot the NBA player in his right leg during the Dec. 30 robbery outside a Queens, NY strip club.

According to the Times, the criminal complaint says officers arrested Dowling, 22, on Friday at his home on unrelated charges. After waiving his right to remain silent, Dowling confessed to taking part in the robbery, but denied being the shooter. Dowling maintains he stayed in one of the getaway cars during the incident.

A judge ordered that the defendant remain locked up without bail.
