It was a scene straight out of a movie. Three castaways have been rescued from a deserted island after they wrote the word “HELP” in the sand. The three people whose identities have not been released were found on the uninhabited Fanadik Island in the Pacific ocean. After spending three days on the beautiful island belonging to the Federated States of Micronesi, a Navy aircrew based in Japan found and rescued the stranded group. [Mashable]

The third suspect in the Brussels bombing attacks has been captured. Mohamed Abrini was spotted in surveillance footage wearing a hat and light colored glasses. Police had nicknamed him the “man in the hat” before learning of his identity. Abrini, believed to be the only surviving suspect in the Brussels attack, is also being linked to the Paris attacks in November which left 130 people dead. [PIX 11]

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake has rattled the country of Pakistan. The area most affected was Afghanistan’s border with Tajikistan. In Islamabad, residents quickly evacuated their homes and offices as buildings swayed back and forth. News cameras captured people in the streets praying as the quake raged on.[Fox News]

A Zara employee in Toronto is putting the store on blast for discrimination. 20-year-old Cree Ballah showed up to work with her hair in box braids tied to the back. Two separate managers approached the store employee  – one saying it needed to be untied, and the other ultimately deciding her braided look was altogether inappropriate. Ballah, who identifies bi-racial, felt offended because the hair style is directly linked to her race. She plans quit Zara and take legal action against the retail chain. [CBC News]
