Gunfire was reported minutes before midnight Wednesday after officers received a call about shots fired on East 19th Avenue. More shots were reportedly fired just minutes later on Windsor Avenue.
Another call to police said a house was shot at on East 12th Avenue.
Upon arrival , Police discovered at least two apartments and a number of vehicles hit by gunfire.
While officers were waiting the arrival of an assault squad, an unidentified person opened fire on police, reportedly with a “high-caliber firearm,” according to Columbus police. Fortunately, none of Columbus’ finest were injured.
CPD called off a search for the mysterious gunman after two hours.
Columbus Police took to social media hours after the incident tweeting “this has to stop.”
