Two gangbanger brothers in Chicago, who are both on parole, were charged with murder Sunday for the fatal shooting of the cousin of NBA star Dwyane Wade, police said.
Darwin Sorrells Jr., 26, and Derren Sorrells, 22, face a first-degree murder rap for opening fire on another person and unintentionally striking Nykea Aldridge.
Aldridge, the first cousin of the Chicago Bulls shooting guard, was struck while pushing her 3-week-old baby girl on a stroller in Chicago’s south side.
Police said the bloodthirsty brothers intended to shoot a man who dropped off women at a house in their neighborhood. They targeted him only because they could tell he was not from the area, police said.
Wade did not immediately comment on the arrests.
Donald Trump, meanwhile, jumped to politicize the death to appeal to minority voters.
“Dwayne Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!” the Republican presidential nominee tweeted Saturday, not bothering to spell the NBA player’s name correctly.
Trump deleted the typo tweet after three hours and reposted it with proper spelling.
Johnson seemed clearly bothered about the tweet when asked about it at the Sunday conference.
“If you have a magic bullet to solve Chicago gun violence…then please, share it with us,” he said.
