Drake spoke out on behalf of his recently retired mentor and Young Money CEO Lil Wayne via Instagram early Monday morning. Wayne is currently stuck in a contract dispute with Cash Money Records and his own mentor Brian “Baby” Williams.
Weezy announced his retirement last week after nearly two years of battling his longtime label for the right to release his “Carter V” album.
Drizzy told his followers that he is willing to fight with Tunechi for the rest of his life: “You gave me a shot and all I can ever do is return the favor. YOUNG MONEY FOREVER.” He also added, “I don’t know what these other weirdos are on with these side talks.”
It’s not clear who Drake is referring to as a weirdo in the post, but could it be Bow Wow, who claimed to have inspired the retirements of Wayne and Kobe Bryant after he decided to retire from rapping.
