Here are some real cool facts about this rivalry between Michigan State and Ohio State.
No. 3 Michigan and No. 2 Ohio State have eight national titles, 10 Heisman Trophy winners and 1,820 wins between them. Now, for the first time in 10 years, they’ll play in The Game with seemingly everything on the line (noon ET Saturday, ABC/ESPN App). Here’s a look at their historic rivalry by the numbers.
The history
Saturday marks the 113th meeting between Michigan and Ohio State, a rivalry that dates to 1897 and one that has gone uninterrupted since 1918. On the field, Michigan leads the overall series 58-48-6.
The teams’ ranks in The Associated Press poll match their ranks in the College Football Playoff rankings, and Saturday marks the 11th Michigan-Ohio State game in which both are in the top five of the AP poll, the most such meetings between teams.
Michigan and Ohio State enter Saturday with one loss each, marking the 15th time since The Game was moved to the last week of the season (1935) that these teams will meet with no losses or one loss. From 1968 to 1978 they had nine such meetings, but have had only two since then (1997, 2006). Ohio State leads these meetings 7-5-2.

Since Michigan-Ohio State was moved to the end of the season in 1935, the winner of The Game has decided the Big Ten conference/division championship 22 times.
Ohio State has won seven consecutive home games against Michigan, and as of Saturday, it will be 5,852 days since the Wolverines defeated the Buckeyes at The Shoe (2000). Those seven straight road losses for Michigan mark the longest road losing streak by either team in series history.
Michigan has lost four straight to Ohio State overall (and 11 of the past 12), last winning on Nov. 26, 2011. This season’s game also falls on Nov. 26. The only other time The Game fell on Nov. 26 was in 1907, a Michigan victory.
