The couple was arrested late Wednesday during a traffic stop in Los Angeles, according to a police report.

During the stop, police said, they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from their car.

The arrest isn’t the first for the rapper, whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris.

In 2008, he was sentenced on charges of unlawfully possessing firearms as a convicted felon. The charges followed an arrest by federal agents a year earlier while T.I. was buying three machine guns in the parking lot of an Atlanta, Georgia, grocery store.

T.I. was released after serving nine months in prison and three months in a halfway house.

“Well, I’m just ready to put the bad things behind me and look forward to the future and, you know, just move forward and evolve — continue to evolve,” he told CNN’s Larry King this year.

T.I. and his wife, Tameka Dianne Cottle, were held on $10,000 bail.

(NY Daily News) Talk about a bad day. A 22-year-old man miraculously survived a 39 story fall into a Dodge Charger yesterday. According to his Facebook page, he hated his life and decided to try to end it but it just wasn’t his time to go.

A young man plunged 39 stories Tuesday from a West Side high-rise, crashed through the windshield of a sports car – and lived to tell about it.

“My leg! My leg!” Thomas Magill, 22, screamed after an apparent suicide attempt ended with his landing in the red 2008 Dodge Charger, witnesses said.

Magill was in critical condition Tuesday night, undergoing surgery for two broken legs – but those who saw him fall were stunned he made it to the hospital.

“He came down feetfirst at like 100 mph,” said witness Andrew Petrocelli, 47, a maintenance worker across the street from where Magill jumped.

“That’s a miracle if I’ve ever seen one. He should be a goner. It was like that movie ‘Unbreakable.’ That was this guy: unbreakable.”

Guy McCormack, 40, of Old Bridge, N.J., owner of the crushed Charger, was doing construction work across the street when his car broke Magill’s fall.

He believes Magill survived on the wings of divine intervention. Holding up a set of crystal rosary beads he retrieved from inside the car, McCormack exclaimed, “Here’s what saved him!”

Magill’s father, Thomas Sr., sent friends a text message, asking them to “pray for my son.”

“He’s stable now. We can only hope he’ll be okay,” the father said after doctors briefed him on his son’s surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Magill, whose family lives on Staten Island, was once listed as a resident of the Manhattan building, West End Towers at 75 West End Ave. Neighbors said he studied music at Fordham University.

“I hate my life,” says his Facebook page. Under the category “bio,” he posted, “I’m over it,” and he listed “being mean” and “making fun of people” as interests.

Police sources said investigators believe he jumped from a 39th-floor window or balcony at 10:45 a.m. He landed in the car’s backseat and trunk area, twisted like a pretzel.

“He had his hands up in the air, like flailing,” Petrocelli said. “Just when he’s about to land, there was a boom and glass flying all over.

“The car saved his life,” Petrocelli surmised. “He landed in there like a stunt man. It was amazing.”

Magill hit so hard that his royal-blue Keds sneakers were knocked off his feet and one landed on the windshield of a car parked behind McCormack’s Dodge.

“I’m shocked that he did that. He’s an amazing kid,” said Magill’s Staten Island neighbor Francine Denardo. “He seemed so happy. He seemed so joyful.”

Hopefully he won’t feel like a failure for botching his own suicide and recognizes this miracle for what it is.

According to the Washington Post Lloyds of London has written an insurance policy for Pittsburgh Steelers star Troy Polamalu’s hair.

Polamalu, who missed 11 games last season due to injury, has not cut his hair in over ten years in tribute to his Samoan ancestors. The Samson like tresses have earned him a product endorsement for Head and Shoulders shampoo, whose parent company felt it was necessary to safeguard their investment to the tune of $1 Million.

“They’ve created the first ever insurance policy to protect his iconic mane for the entire NFL season,” Procter & Gamble said in a statement.

While early estimates had “The Last Exorcism” edging out “Takers” at the box office this weekend, T.I. says not so fast. According to a recalculated tally on BoxOfficeMojo.com, his heist film, also starring Idris Elba and Chris Brown, came out on top, grossing $20.5 million vs. the horror movie’s $20.3 million.

“It was so tight, they kinda misinformed people prematurely and gave out the wrong information,” Tip said about the initial numbers. “But officially, as it stands right now, ‘Takers’ is the #1 movie in the country, contrary to popular belief. In my heart, I felt it would be.

“Its kinda like the Obama election,” Tip continued. “Not at all as important, but you felt like it was supposed to happen … unless it was some bullsh– in the game, it would likely happen. I’m not in any way trying to compare the magnitude of importance [of the presidential election] to this [box-office] situation, but I’m just trying to somewhat rate my anticipation. Thanks to everyone that supported. Critics were very quick to sign up and criticize the film. I appreciate the people for showing up and judging for themselves. And tweeting and putting out the word of mouth that this really was a good film.”

Tip did more than his share to promote the film this weekend. On Friday, he was in Atlanta treating his hometown fans to the flick, and then he headed to the Midwest on Sunday to do the same.

“All weekend I been out,” he said. “If I went and the line was packed, I bought all the tickets. Everybody inside who had already bought the tickets, I bought the concessions — popcorn, candy, slushees, sodas. I did that in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday. Sunday, I was in Mount Pleasant [Michigan] with [Ludacris for a concert]. … I went before the concert and took pictures and signed autographs for everyone who bought tickets. And after the show, I went in after the movie theater had closed. They remained open so they could show the film, man. At 11:30 or 11:55. That allowed us to have two more sold-out shows. I appreciate all the people who supported. It was really the energy. The energy surrounding the project was unmatched.

“We were in less theaters, we were in smaller theaters [than 'The Last Exorcism'],” Tip said about the obstacles for “Takers.” “They were in theaters that held 350 and 400. We were in theaters that held 150 and 185, 225. We had a stronger per-screen average, which means all of the screens that we were viewed on and showed on, we had more sold-out shows than they did. It was more people in line for ‘Takers’ than it was for that movie. It didn’t matter how many more screens than us they were on. It kept it close, but they couldn’t bring out the victory, simply because the people demanded it. The quality of ['Takers'] spoke volumes of what the people wanted to have in the #1 slot.”

After the film’s successful debut weekend, Tip was on the phone Monday morning (August 30) with the filmmakers about getting a “Takers” prequel greenlit. Musically, he’s dropping a song in the next few days called “I Pledge Allegiance to the Swag.”

Lil’ Wayne’s love of sports doesn’t stop at basketball and football.

The rapper is an avid tennis fan as well.

Sports Illustrated recently sent Weezy a letter asking the incarcerated rapper to weigh in on the upcoming US Open, and the rapper was surprisingly knowledgeable about the sport!

I genuinely appreciate this opportunity to express my love for tennis.  One of the main reasons I enjoy the sport so much is because when I actually tried to play, it was unbelievably difficult.  So ever since, I’ve been drawn to the great talents of the game.  Not to mention Andre Agassi was like a pop star when I was a kid.  I love the Williams sisters. I simply adore Maria Sharadova and I’m a huge [Rafael] Nadal fan!  I’m definitely rooting for him to get the Grand slam and win the US Open.  He’s already became [sic] the 2nd youngest player to win 8 major titles before the age of 25.  He’s halfway there to Roger [Federer's] 16. And even while battling knee tendonitis, he’s still ranked #1.  His Wimbledon performance was one of a kind.  He simply plays with pure passion and leaves it all out there on the court.  With [Juan Martín] Del Potro pulling out of this years Open with injury, Nadal’s only threats are obviously Federer, Djokovic, and Roddick’s aggressive play, but the player that scares me the most is Andy Murray who’s beaten Rafael four times.  Even still I say “Nadal wins it all.”

And by the way, I’m giving the edge to [Kim] Clijsters in the Women’s singles due to Serena’s right foot. Again, I’m very thankful for this opportunity.

(hiphopwired.com) An Ohio woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly operating a sex toy while operating a motor vehicle.

Colondra Hamilton, 32, of Cincinnati was pulled over yesterday for an equipment violation when officers noticed an equipment violation of another sort.

According to officers, when they approached the vehicle Hamilton’s pants were unbuttoned and a female sex toy lay in her lap.

Hamilton went on to admit to officers that she had been using the sex toy while driving. She also admitted to watching a video on her laptop that was held by a passenger.

A search of the vehicle revealed a broken crack pipe that also belonged to Hamilton. She was charged with driving with impaired alertness and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia for both pieces of the crack pipe.
