Magic Johnson is in talks to buy the Johnson Publishing magazine empire.  The firm publishes “Ebony” and “Jet” magazines and has a famous archive of photographs documenting African-American life in the U.S.  Any potential sale would include the company’s downtown Chicago headquarters, but there are reportedly liens on the building by a creditor.  metrosource
