Well it seems that Bishop Eddie Long’s church in Atlanta is causing more controversy for Christians and non believers. This week the church crowned him king, yes I said king. There crowning ceremony included wrapping him in a ‘priceless’ 312 year old “Holocaust Torah” Sunday at his church New Birth Missionary Church.

Rabbi Hillel Norry from Congregation Shearith Israel in Georgia said the ceremony was “ridiculous.” There’s no Jewish coronation ceremony where someone is wrapped in a Torah and made a king, he said. Rabbi Norry also said that Rabbi Messer doesn’t appear to be a true Rabbi AND he doubts that the Holocaust Torah is real either.
“We just don’t do that. We treat it with deference,” Norry said of the Torah. “It’s not a shawl, not a crown. Don’t treat it that way.”
If you recall Bishop Eddie Long recently settled out of court with a group of young men that accused him of sexual abuse and his wife recently left him at the end of 2011.
