Georgia mom Chuntera Napier is fresh out of jail because she let her 10 year old son get a tattoo in memorial of his brother Malik that passed away in a tragic car accident a couple of years ago.  There is a Georgia law that states:

It shall be unlawful for any person to tattoo the body of any person under the age of 18, except a physician or osteopath.

Making it completely illegal for an adult or guardian to give  consent to a minor to get a tattoo.  No matter the content of the tattoo.  When her son Gaquan was seen at school sporting his new tattoo, somebody called the authorities to report it.  Napier was charged with misdemeanor cruelty and being a party to a crime.

Chuntera Napier saw nothing wrong with her 10 year old son Gaquan’s request to get a tattoo on his right arm with his brother’s name and old basketball number.  She refused to cooperate with police and give the name of the actual tattoo artist who could have also had charges been brought against him or her.  Upon examination, the authorities stated that the tattoo appeared to be the work of an amateur.

Check out the news story below and what the mother had to say about her decisions.

Do you agree with the Georgia law in place or do you think it should be up to a parent?
