It looks like former NFL Wide Receiver/Diva Chad Johnson is not as foreign to domestic violence as we initally believed.

The popular celebrity news source reports they obtained court records stating that Johnson was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in L.A. on February 7, 2000, months before he began playing football for Oregon State University.

Reportedly the vicitm (his Girlfriend at the time) told police the football star had slapped her in the face after he accused her of cheating on him.

Records show the 22-year-old  Johnson pled no contest as the court found him guilty of domestic battery.

Chad was ordered to serve 45 days in a LA Country Jail and 3 years probation following.  Johnson however,  struck a deal with the court where he would serve  30 days in graffiti removal work with CalTrans, allowing him to avoid jail.

The Young Johnson was also required to complete a 12 month batterer’s counseling program and ordered to stay 100 yards away from the victim.

However, the same court records show Johnson blew off the hard labor and the domestic violence program for years.  A judge added an additional 15 days of graffiti removal service when he discovered Chad had been moving in slo mo.  Number 85 finally completed his obligations in 2002 when he was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.
