It’s been a long sixteen years since Nas and Lauryn Hill first collaborated on the classic hit “If I Ruled The World.” Finally, the two are in the right space to capitalize off their collaboration. Nas and Lauryn Hill announced they will be going out on tour together for the “Life Is Good/Black Rage” Tour.

The stateside tour will begin on October 6th in Columbia, Maryland. That show, as with a few other dates, will only feature Nas. The first show Lauryn Hill and Nas will be in Dallas, Texas on October 29th.

Nas and Lauryn Hill both were inspired by their music for the name of the tour. Obviously, Nas named his part of the tour after his latest critically acclaimed album. “Black Rage” is the name of a song Hill is planning on releasing in the very near future. The subject matter is very heavy and deep. It speaks about the effects of racial inequality and abuse. The pair said they wanted to juxtapose the two feelings conjured by their work in the title of the tour.

“I’ve been a long standing rebel against the stale, over commoditization. As artists we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness, teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch. So we keep it moving,” Hill stated.

On the other hand, Nas wasn’t trying to get to deep with his reasoning for doing the tour. He told the media, “This is history. Better late than never. Life is good!”
