Talib Kweli sits down with Peter Rosenberg’s Hot 97 Morning Show to discuss the possibility of a Black Star reunion

Earlier today legendary Brooklyn emcee Talib Kweli sat down with Peter Rosenberg and The Hot 97 Morning Show when the subject of a Black Star reunion was mentioned. The group, which consist of Kweli and fellow Brooklynite Mos Def (aka Yasiin Bey), has not dropped an album since 1998.

Although the two emcees were able to collaborate on a few tracks while on the Rock The Bells tour this year, Kweli admitted that he was uncertain of the possibility of a Black Star reunion. “It’s a toss up. But you know what, the great thing about Black Star is it was never dependent on the output of the album,” he said. “It was like a lighting in a bottle thing, our intention was to do that one album and then do our solo careers, but people loved that album.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding a follow-up project to their 1998 project, Kweli said the two emcees still do shows together constantly. READ MORE
