The Ohio State Highway Patrol says an early morning chase that started in Licking County and ended in East Columbus was a big misunderstanding.

10TV was on the scene around 4 a.m. when a driver led troopers on a ride reaching 100 miles per hour on I-70 west from Licking County all the way to James Road.

Officers say there were six people inside the car including professors and students from Bogata, Columbia.

That group told troopers they had missed their connecting flight and were forced to rent a car to make it to The Ohio State University for a conference.

Troopers say the visitors were more than a little unfamiliar with the rules of the road.

No citations were issued and officers instead escorted the group to their nearby hotel.  SOURCE
