COLUMBUS, Ohio –

The Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a former area treasurer for the Columbus City School System, charging her with theft in office.

Tina L. Dorsey, 43, was the area treasurer who was assigned to Columbus East High School, Champion, Monroe, and Clearbrook middle schools, as well as Eastgate, Trevitt, Beatty, Park, Fairwood, and Ohio Avenue elementary schools, according to the indictment.

The indictment states that Dorsey had been named the subject of an internal investigation by the Columbus City School system in December 2012.

It is alleged that between December 19, 2011 and November 28, 2012, a total of $27,741.69 in missing funds had been taken by Dorsey from special events at the schools, according to the indictment.

If she is found guilty of the charge, Dorsey faces up to five years in prison. SOURCE
