Gushots were fired Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. PT outside the Oakland hotel where the #3 Ohio State football is staying ahead of today’s game against Cal.
Two men were reportedly engaged in a gun fight where a cab driver was struck by a stray bullet as he was standing at the hotel’s taxi stand.
Long-time Buckeye columnist Tim May of The Columbus Dispatch was reportedly on the scene saying he heard at least eight shots. Another witness said he heard between three and five.
ABC 7 reports that a man was detained after officers saw him running from the scene, but he was released shortly after.
