CNN’s Piers Morgan sat down with Billy Ray Cyrus Thursday night for a wide-ranging interview that, of course, addressed the twerk heard ’round the world. Miley Cyrus stirred up quite a bit of controversy with her VMAs performance, but her father was nothing but proud of her. He talked a lot about pushing boundaries as an artist, but Morgan really wanted to know if he, as a father, wasn’t just a wee bit bothered by the twerking and the nude riding of a wrecking ball.

Morgan admitted that he wouldn’t be comfortable with his daughter “turning into a twerker.” Cyrus said, “It gets even stranger when that little girl becomes a young lady.” He didn’t directly address how he felt as a dad, simply saying she made a brave choice to expand her horizons beyond Hannah Montana. He added, “The shock factor is tremendously higher than it used to be.”

Morgan also brought up how the Parents Television Council was outraged at the VMAs performance, and Cyrus happens to be on the board. Cyrus admitted he’s never been to a meeting, declining to say anything beyond “everyone’s entitled to their opinions.”

Morgan gushed over the VMAs performance in the interview and even suggested Miley is on her way to being the biggest pop star in the world. SOURCE
