I don’t know if you’re like me, but I had to use a few detours to get back home last night from the Eastside as 70 West was shut down just past the Hamilton Road exit.

WBNS is reporting two women died in a fiery crash shortly before 2:45 a.m.

Columbus Police say the driver lost control of her Jeep and crossed the median, hitting a support pole for an overhead sign.

The impact set the Jeep on fire.

Another motorist stopped to pull out one of the victims from the burning vehicle, and dragged another from under the Jeep. That woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another woman died when she became trapped in the car.

The driver and a fourth person in the vehicle were injured in the crash.

One was taken to Grant Medical Center in serious condition. The other was transported to OSU Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.

Officers searched on the ground and by helicopter for other possible victims who may have been ejected. No other victims were found.

The freeway was shut down for a several hours as officers searched and investigated the scene.
