Until Friday night (April 24), any news regarding Bruce Jenner transitioning into life as a woman was simply hearsay. Ending all confusion, Jenner brought truth to the rumors, announcing said transition during a highly anticipated two-hour interview with Diane Sawyer.

Jenner, a former Olympian, spoke candidly with Sawyer, explaining that he’s been in a state of confusion since his younger days.

“Bruce Jenner is, I would say I’ve always been confused about my gender identity,” Jenner said.

At 65-years-old, she admits that there’s no perfect way to transition, especially when breaking the news to your children. Jenner says Khloe Kardashian took it the hardest, as she’s all too familiar with losing important men in her life.

To the contrary, Jenner says Kim Kardashian has been the most supportive, but not without a little convincing from her husband Kanye West.

“I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful daughter in the world, and I have that,” explained West, before continuing, “But I’m nothing if I can’t be true to myself. It don’t mean anything.”

Jenner says “For all intents and purposes, I am a woman.”

ABC reached out to each of Jenner’s three former wives. Two were supportive; Kris Jenner opted not to comment.

Many tipped their hat to Jenner, citing her bravery to not only stay true to herself, but to announce it on a grand stage as a statement to the transgender community and those who are ignorant to it.
