The Ohio State University will be hosting a public celebration of John Glenn’s life Saturday.

The service will take place at 2 p.m. in the Mershon Auditorium.

Seating to the ceremony is limited and tickets will become available Thursday at 9 a.m. Additional information can be found on Ohio State’s website.

Glenn passed away at the age of 95 Thursday.

He made history in 1962 as the first American to orbit the earth. He went on to represent Ohio in the U.S. Senate from 1974-1997. In 1998, Glenn became the oldest person to travel into space.
